Parker Posey Gets Personal
By Daniel R. Coleridge

Last Thursday, NBC's wacky Will & Grace blooper reel — aired just after Grace's big wedding episode — reminded us how much we miss Parker Posey. The Party Girl star guested twice last year as Dorleen, Jack's sassy boss at Barney's New York. But there's no word from the show on when she'll be asked back. "I have no idea, either," Posey tells TV Guide Online. "I'd like to!"

Posey taped Dorleen's scenes last year, shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. "It was a scary time," she recalls. "I felt weird leaving New York to fly out and visit Will & Grace's comedy bubble in L.A."

Aside from unfortunate timing, the 34-year-old indie-film queen was challenged by acting opposite TV sitcom veterans. "It was hard for me," she admits. "I wasn't quite sure who to perform for — the audience or the cameras. Those guys have been doing it forever. Debra Messing was literally juggling oranges between [scenes] and Eric McCormack was doing his Freddie Mercury impression during the break. I was like, 'Where am I?!'

"I'm used to saving moments for the camera," she explains, "and I guess I'm shy. They're all very cazche. Sean Hayes and that Megan Mullally are so funny. Megan plays the boozy one. They kill me. They can get away with anything!"

Angel Vamp Turns Good Girl
By Sabrina Rojas Weiss

So far, Julie Benz has a lousy track record with on-screen motherhood. Hell, as vampiress Darla, she staked herself during childbirth on the WB's Angel! Next up, Benz plays a woman whose husband and son are repeatedly abducted by aliens in Taken (debuting tonight at 9 pm/ET on Sci Fi Channel). Despite the fantastic nature of Steven Spielberg's miniseries, she admits to finding the role of a 1950s housewife refreshingly normal.

"It was nice to play a woman," laughs Benz, who first encountered alien life as a recurring character on Roswell. "It was really nice for me to be part of a sci-fi project where I didn't actually have to be part of the sci-fi aspect. I'm always the vampire or the FBI agent. I'm always the one who's in it."

Even so, she does miss Darla, and the kooky cult following that came with playing her. "She was an amazing character," Benz says. But fans shouldn't get their hopes up for Angel's undead ex to rise from the grave again. "You never know with [Angel producers] David Greenwalt and Joss Whedon," she muses. "They would never use Darla's return as a ratings stunt. It would cheapen everything we've established. So it would have to be a really good plotline and a really good reason to bring her back. I think they've explored her to the hilt."
