Lisa Marie regrets wedding Jacko

Amid reports that Lisa Marie Presley could be subpoenaed to testify against her ex-husband, Michael Jackson, Star has learned that the singer had second thoughts about their mysterious marriage in 1994. Lisa Marie, who is currently touring Australia to promote her debut album, To Whom it May Concern, "regrets ever marrying Michael [especially] with this new court battle looming," a close friend tells Star.

During an Australian TV interview, Presley told interviewer Andrew Denton she felt powerless during her 20- month marriage to Jackson, saying she saw things she couldn't do anything about, referring to matters between a husband and a wife. Those remarks caught the attention of investigators who are work on child sex allegations against Jackson. But days later, Presley elaborated, "I was in no way referring to seeing something inappropriate with children."

"Her past is something she likes to lock away," reveals her friend. "She never thought [that] ten years later, this would come back to haunt her like it has. "

STARTING A NEW LIFE

Lisa Marie's life has taken a turn for the better in the past two months. "She is the happiest and calmest I've seen her in a long time," says her friend. Lisa is enjoying touring and the attention her daughter, Riley, 14, is getting as a model. "The last thing she needs is to be dragged into court to talk about Michael Jackson. If Lisa Marie had some kind of information or proof that Michael had harmed a child, she would be telling the world. That's how she is."
